Become a Trainee HGV Driver/Warehouse Person

If you are over 18 years of age, capable of sustaining physical activity, have a clean full driving licence, then we have an opportunity for a committed, hardworking person looking for a career with an established employer.
Headlam PLC is the largest floorcovering distributor in Europe. We market, supply and distribute an extensive range of floorcovering products to independent flooring retailers and contractors throughout the UK and continental Europe.
Initially to work within our busy warehouse depot based in Strood, Kent, the successful applicant will be given extensive training in all areas required to maintain the levels of productivity to ensure we meet our customer’s deadlines, either by working on your own or within a team environment.
After the initial warehouse training, Culpeck will fund the training costs for a full HGV Class 2 course for you to further assist our busy distribution dept. This involves multi-drop cover for holidays & sickness.
You will need to be numerate, literate, methodical, systematic, punctual and fit with a good attitude to customer service. As an absolute requirement, you will need both an excellent understanding of spoken and written English, with an approach consistent with working in a culture that puts Health and Safety above any other priority.
Due to the nature of our business, please also be aware that the successful applicant when required to undertake manual handling tasks may find this involves some heavy lifting. With this in mind, all applicants must be of good health and of reasonable fitness, achieve a high work rate and be dedicated to developing a long-term career within our business.
Trainee HGV/LGV Driver: The trainee role is subject to completion of the HGV training course.
