Optivo has a rare and exciting technical role, based in our Sittingbourne we are hiring for an Information Security Specialist.

Reporting into the Head of IT Services, you will be required to develop and communicate our information security policy, standards and guidelines, alongside providing advice and guidance on information security to manage identified risks and ensure adoption and adherence to standards.

You will act on vulnerability information and conducts security risk assessments, while monitoring the application and compliance of security operations procedures and reviews information systems for actual or potential breaches in security.

Investigating breaches of security and recommending appropriate control improvements you will be a subject matter expert for Optivo's board and wider business.

As an information security specialist, your work will focus on understanding risks to the security of information or data. You'll analyse where security breaches may occur or have occurred, and repair or strengthen systems against such breaches. This relates to the systems and networks used by companies and organisations to manage their information and information technology.


To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate some, if not all of the following;

•Previous experience of risk management
•Good written communications
•Able to influence and persuade colleagues of all levels
•Familiar with current best practice in information security
•Familiar with Sophos products would be beneficial but is not necessary

Sound knowledge of :
•IT/IS infrastructure on premise and cloud
•Virtualised environments
•Networking
•Familiar with IT audit
•Proficient in access security control
•Familiar with the legislation relating to information security
