We are seeking a proficient individual to enable us to manage the ongoing work associated with the REVAMP (Recognition of Excellent Volunteer Management and Practice) project. Currently this role will be for a 14 month period with the possibility of extension thereafter.

You will be supporting our Centre Director and Chair of Stronger Kent Communities in his role in terms of the ongoing development of this innovative Kent – wide project which relates to both the showcasing and increase of best practice in regard to the management of volunteers across Kent.

The REVAMP process consists of a series of ongoing workshops for organisations interested in the Quality Mark followed by an assessment process of submitted materials.

The Canterbury and Herne Bay Volunteer Centre has a long track record in running workshops and training in relation to volunteers and volunteer management.

This initiative is part of a suite of projects generated by Stronger Kent Communities CIC as part of a contract with Kent County Council.



REVAMP Project Administrator Job Description:

• To work under the direction of the Centre Director/SKC Chair

• Manage and maintain the software programmes relating to this service

• To actively promote this project & provide publicity materials particularly via Social Media

• Prepare statistics for monitoring and evaluation

• Deal with enquiries in the appropriate manner

• Co-ordinate the day-to-day administration of the service

• Keep appropriate and up to date records in relation to all aspects of this project

• Present a positive image of Canterbury & Herne Bay Volunteer Centre & Stronger Kent Communities at all times

• To maintain a high degree of confidentiality

• To keep accurate records and handle petty cash

• To undertake any other duties commensurate with this post and as required


Person Specification: REVAMP Project Administrator

The following outlines the minimum criteria for this role.

Applicants who have a disability and who meet the minimum criteria will be shortlisted. Applicants should describe in their CV/covering letter how they meet these criteria.

Essential:

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 GCSEs A* - C (including Maths and English) or equivalent

EXPERIENCE

• Demonstrable knowledge and experience in IT (Microsoft Office)

• Demonstrable proficiency in the use of Social Media for engagement & marketing purposes & profile building

• Demonstrable experience of working in an administrative capacity

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with a wide range of audiences, in both written and oral formats and in particular in
regard to Social Media

• Ability to prioritise tasks and work within tight deadlines

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to be flexible and work under pressure

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• IT skills – specifically Microsoft Word and Excel

• Social Media proficiency

KNOWLEDGE

• Understanding of the needs of the voluntary/community sector, and volunteers

• Understanding of equality of opportunity in all aspects of working practice

• Basic knowledge of GDPR in relation to Social Media

PERSONAL QUALITIES

• Team player

• Respectful & professional manner

• Motivated and shows initiative

Desirable

• A levels or degree

• Experience of the voluntary sector either as an employee, committee member or active volunteer

• Ability to promote project to third parties

In depth understanding and/or experience of:

• issues affecting the community sector and community projects

• Volunteering

• Social Media
