Hornby Hobbies brand portfolio encompasses Hornby model railways, Scalextric slot car racing, Airfix plastic kits, Humbrol specialist paints and Corgi diecast, along with a number of internationally renowned model railway brands.
We are seeking to recruit a Trainee Product Graphic Designer. Reporting to the Product Graphic/Web Designer and working with our International brands, this role is responsible for the day to day support of the International brands product graphic requirements.
Main duties will include:
• creating layered product graphic using Adobe illustrator
• working with external researchers
• creating instruction leaflets and service sheets in order to maximise ease of construction
• creating barcode labels, over labels and warning labels
• liaison with our Licensing Team ensure any licensing requirements are fully met.
Working knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign will be a significant advantage, as would a 2nd language.
Our ideal candidate will have an interest in model railways and want to acquire knowledge about the subjects modelled, with a natural ability and desire to innovate and share new ideas. There may be some international travel required from time to time.
This post may suit a recent school/college leaver, having just completed a BTech/A Level (or equivalent) in a Graphic related subject. Full training will be given to the right candidate, which is likely to include college day release to further qualifications.
