We are currently looking to recruit Weekend Electric pallet truck drivers to work for my client situated on the eastern Docks. Applicants must have a experience in using a pallet truck or similar machinery:-
Work involves working on a cargo vessel loading pallets on to cradles to be offload., Start times are dependant on boat arrivals, so you must be willing to start at anytime within a 24 hour period, but times are confirmed 48 hours before each weekend. There is also the opportunity to get extra hours within the week.
Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be physically fit, and be prepared to work in a busy and high paced environment.
Due to the location of my clients site -
ALL staff are required to take a drug and alcohol screening test. There is a zero tolerance on any illegal drugs or excessive use of alcohol. The test will be carried out prior to you being offered work and you will be subject to random tests throughout the year. If any tests come back as a fail , work will stop immediately and you will not be allowed to work at any site within the docks.
You will also have a basic vetting which covers:-
Identity checks
Address Checks
Criminal Record Checks
If you believe you will not pass the test/vetting, please DO NOT apply.
For this role you DO NOT need to have a valid pallet truck licence but you MUST similar experience.
Pay Rates:-
Training Rate- £8.00 PH - Then £9.00 PH - £9.56 after 13 weeks
We also pay an additional £1 ph for working between 10pm and 6am, plus double time for bank holidays, and double time for working longer than a 12 hour shift.

Own transport unless you live in Dover, this is due to some of the start and finish times.
Training consists of 2/3 days, which involves assessments on the pallet trucks, with on the job training.
ALL APPLICANTS WILL HAVE TO ATTEND A REGISTRATION AND BASIC INDUCTION AT MT CLIENTS SITE IN DOVER. YOU WILL ALSO BE REQUIRED TO TAKE A DRUG AND ALCOHOL TEST.
This role is long term/regular ongoing work, and you will be working for J & J Recruitment at my clients site.
Work is due to commence late September early October 2018
