Red Eagle Recruitment are looking to recruit a Shift Production Supervisor for our food manufacturing client this is a permanent position candidates must be available to work on a shift basis 6.00 am to 2.00 pm and 2.00 pm to 10.00 pm weekly rotating. To apply please send an up to date CV.

The role of the Shift Supervisor is to ensure a highly professional service is provided to all its internal and external stakeholders.
Job Purposes
Oversee and coordinate the day to day operation of their respective Production Area to ensure efficient manufacture of food safe, legal and quality products. Carry out good GMP practice and that all stock is used in a FIFO (first in, first out) basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
To lead by example at all times and provide leadership to dedicated teams to ensure:
Effective utilisation of equipment and manpower to meet the required quality standards and production lead times.
Positive working atmosphere is maintained
Improvements are communicated, implemented, enforced and sustained.
Staff development and involvement is encouraged to create a skilled, flexible and motivated workforce.
Adherence to company policies and procedures.
Enforcement of Health and Safety Practices of their team and themselves.
To control and meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for all production processes.
To manage staff attendance, absences, holiday requests and identify disciplinary issues and procedures as appropriate.
To have a good knowledge and be able to operate all equipment in their section
Requisitions materials required to meet production goals in a timely manner
Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment, discusses options with the Production Manager if required due to volume/performance effects on the shift time availability
Ensure all line checks are completed, relevant paperwork (eg Work Instructions) and Factory Master requirements are adhered to
Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments
Principle Accountabilities:
To provide strong and decisive leadership and management of all staff within the Team. To take a lead role in the induction and retention of staff.
To ensure regular supervision, appraisal and teaching of staff across the team, so that all staff remain effective and motivated, monitoring the teaching and training requirements of all staff. To ensure that all team members have the skills to fulfil their duties (including Tool Box talks).
To ensure all information requirements are met through the delivery of required statistics and data and Work Instructions.
To attend all relevant meetings to ensure that you are actively involved in the planning of production, identification of improvements and represent the needs of your production area and teams.
To ensure that all required FactoryMaster, GMP and quality procedures are adhered to for the department and is supported by correct and completed paperwork and documentation.
To maintain an acceptable level of personal and food hygiene of both the department and the team
To monitor sickness and absenteeism, taking remedial action at the earliest possible stage (return to work).
To develop and maintain effective systems of production processes throughout the department.
To ensure that all production and Health & Safety issues are addressed in an effective manner and that all incidents are immediately reported to the Production Manager. Near miss and Accident Reports.
To investigate complaints and incidents, looking for root cause and identifying actions to prevent recurrence.
Attend training as required to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
Carry out other duties that are within the general scope of the post and grade which may be required from time to time, as part of their team development and progression within the organisation.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises up to 20 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organisation’s policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Language Skills

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
