We are looking for Support Worker Drivers for our Access to Work department.
Rate: £12.08 per hour
Hours: Part time 20 hrs per week
Location: Kent
It is essential that applicants must have access to a car and a clean driving license.
Introduction to Generate
Generate has been creating opportunities and offering support to people with a learning disability since 1972. We are committed to improving the lives of people with a learning disability by supporting and encouraging them in a creative way to access opportunities in their communities, take their place as citizens and reduce their reliance on services.
In addition to our youth and community services targeted at people with a learning disability, we also provide an Access to Work service. This delivers one-to-one employment support workers and Job Coaching staff across London to individuals with a range of disabilities, funded for in-work support through the Department of Work and Pensions’ Access to Work Programme, although there is scope for this service to expand into other areas of supported employment. Generate is the largest provider of the programme within London with a wide breadth of scope in terms of location and range of disabilities supported.
About the role
Supporting a visually impaired social worker with administration and driving her to and accompanying her on appointments.
Detailed Responsibilities and Duties
Duties will include but are not limited to:
• Supporting the client in their workplace at their direction, helping them carryout the function that they are unable to do due to their disability.
• Adapt support to meet each client’s specific needs.
• Support and empower the client in all aspects of their work
• Maintain confidentiality at all times
• We believe the support we offer should have a positive impact on the lives of people with a learning disability.
