Leeds Castle is one of the country’s leading heritage visitor attractions, welcoming over 550,000 visitors each year. As well as the castle we have estate buildings, holiday cottages, bed and breakfast accommodation and 500 acres of grounds, parklands and formal gardens. Our business is complex and varied and Health and Safety is of paramount importance to ensure a safe environment for visitors, guests and staff.
The Health and Safety Manager is a new role and the person appointed will have overall responsibility to devise and maintain effective H&S management system for the Foundation and to ensure that the required standards are maintained, improved and remain legally compliant. This will comprise drafting procedures, providing health and safety advice/support, staff training, together with monitoring a wide range of health and safety compliance across the estate.
Reporting to the Estate Services Manager the successful applicant will have good experience ideally gained in a similar environment together with a recognised qualification (NEBOSH) and will have the detailed knowledge to advise management on all H&S matters.
To succeed in this role you will need to be resilient, flexible and pragmatic and be able to cope cheerfully with the unpredictability of a 365 day environment.
