We have an exciting opportunity for an EHS advisor at the Queenborough site. The role is to provide Environmental support and technical knowledge to the site to ensure regulatory requirements are met. Support the EHS Manager in all areas of environment, health and safety whilst having a core focus on the environmental aspects of the EHS department responsibilities.

Reporting to the EHS Manager you will work closely with other members of the EHS team to ensure a first class service is provided to our customers.

Key Accountabilities…

• Supports the EHS Manager in enforcing compliance onsite.
• Responsible for understanding the requirements of the relevant regulatory authorities, e.g. Environment Agency, Local Authority and Water Authority.
• Responsible for producing and submitting Environmental Permit notifications / variations and returns in a timely manner.
• Responsible for the environmental management system including, audit management, procedure control and operational management of the systems.
• Provide advice and support to the site to ensure compliance with ISO14001.
• Co-ordinates and plans regulatory monitoring activities in line with the Environmental Permit.
• Participates in EHS Inspections and Audits to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented in all areas of site.
• Assist in the investigation, reporting and recording of accidents and Incidents.
• Provide reports and information to the EHS Manager for communication throughout the organisation and to regulators.
• Provides EHS advice and information to the EHS Facilitators, departments and site leadership team.

Knowledge and Experience…

Essential
• Graduate or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, or sufficient experience in relevant areas
• Relevant experience in Environment, Health and Safety field
• Good knowledge of EHS legislation and standards
• Extensive technical knowledge of Environmental Permit requirements
• Excellent communicator (internal and external)
• Good IT skills

Desirable
• NEBOSH General Certificate
• Knowledge of COMAH requirements
• Understanding of waste management issues, waste regulations and recycling
• Experience with The Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations
