Join our International Outdoor business as Retail Marketing Manager

We are looking for a Retail Marketing Manager to join our busy and friendly Marketing & Communications team.


The Role

Improve the engagement of retail staff and consumers with the Nikwax brand and products to educate them about our products, broadening and increasing sales by effective planning, development, distribution and management of retail marketing tools and materials, and lead their presentation at international trade shows by:

• Planning, developing, delivering and distributing impactful in-store point of sale and activations to drive brand awareness and sales in liaison with the Head of Marketing, internal teams and design agency
• Planning and delivering the presentation of marketing tools and materials and the calendar of trade and consumer shows both in UK and at two major international trade shows each year
• Developing training packages for retail staff and manage their ongoing update to ensure ongoing effectiveness and relevance
• Liaising with key distributor marketing managers to identify marketing support requirements and ensure marketing tools and materials are current and effective
• Liaising with store merchandising managers to gain insight into their needs and changing retail patterns in order to inform the ongoing evolution of Nikwax's retail presentation; enabling piloting of new point of sale materials and optimisation any retail opportunities.
• Gathering, analysing and making recommendations from customers' and retailers’ reactions to in-store marketing initiatives on how to optimise retail presentation to meet business goals
• Keeping informed of retailer, consumer and competitor trends; interpreting and using these insights to make suggestions that will drive ongoing improvement to our retail and event materials.


The Person will be

• An excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing
• A marketing or retail marketing professional with a strong understanding of the retail landscape
• A strong project manager with exceptional organisational skills
• Experienced of planning and delivering international trade shows or large trade and consumer events
• Good at building strong relationships
• Enthusiastic with an innovative, creative flair
• An experienced researcher with good analytical skills
• Willing to undertake some UK travel and a limited amount of international travel
• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• An interest in the outdoors and outdoors activities would be an advantage.

A full clean driving licence is also required.
