Senior SQL Data Engineer

A leading software solution house is looking to add a customer-facing database engineer to their team. This is an exciting time to take a key role in their organisation that is rapidly expanding and offers a real differentiator to its customers.
The position is based in the technical team, maintaining and enhancing the real-time view they provide of customers' networks, taking responsibility for databases serving billions of values a day.
You will contribute to live projects from the outset, so core skills are requirements. You will work with internal development and support teams as well as directly with the customer so you need to communicate effectively with people on many technical levels.
The role includes an on-call element, giving third line support on a weekly rota basis.
The position requires the following core skills/technologies.
o SQL/RDBMS experience
o Problem solving / lateral thinking
o Customer facing experience
o DB Performance optimisation and monitoring
o Linux shell/terminal
Any of the following experience would be desirable:
o Vertica/vsql
o Tableau
o Working using Scrum
o Red Hat/CentOS
o Mobile Networks (GSM, UMTS, CDMA or LTE)
o SVN version control
