Watkins is a family owned SME providing integrated mechanical, electrical and plumbing services with an annual turnover exceeding £40m. We are looking to recruit a pro-active Purchase Ledger Administrator to join our busy finance team based in our head office in Ramsgate, Kent.

Job Description:

The primary role will involve processing purchase ledger invoices in a timely manner into our financial system ensuring all the relevant validations have been completed. Resolving all queries with both internal and external customers and ensuring the payment is completed according to the relevant payment terms. Hours of work are 8.30 – 5pm.

Requirements:

- You will be computer literate and would be familiar with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of a financial double entry accounting system is essential. Our financials are run on Sage 1000, so Sage would be advantageous although not essential, full training will be provided.
- You will have had at least 2 years’ experience working in an accounts office environment and be familiar with purchase ledger payments and account reconciliations.
- A team player, you will be able to work closely with your finance colleagues providing a professional service.

The individual:

- A professional, self-motivated, focused individual with a positive attitude towards their tasks and duties.
- Numerate with an attention to detail, accuracy and speed of data entry. We require you to both work as a team and on your own initiative.
- You will have good communication skills and be confident in talking to a wide range of people.
- Since the role is highly administrative, you will have a structured, efficient and organised approach to your work.
