Love copywriting but feel like you’ve done your time as a junior and are ready to make the next move? Or maybe you’ve worked client-side and want to move to a faster-paced agency environment with more variety? We’re looking for a midweight content editor to bring their storytelling, words, creative thinking and editorial experience to the Deeson Publishing team.
The Deeson Publishing team works with a small portfolio of clients to produce high quality business to business and business to consumer communications.
You’ll be happy producing high quality content, finding creative solutions to business challenges and making complicated concepts into engaging output for magazines, e-zines, websites, social, video and audio.

You’ll be based at our office at 27 Castle Street, Canterbury, CT1 2PX. The starting salary for this role will be between £22k and £28k depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Writing high quality short-form and long-form copy for use in magazines, e-zines, email, websites, social and multimedia platforms
- Attending events to produce interesting and engaging event reporting content
- Doing interviews, both face to face and telephone/Skype, to produce content for magazines and websites.
- Developing creative ideas and messaging to ensure campaigns deliver the results we need.
- Working on own initiative to define and solve client business challenges
- Liaising with clients directly and build effective working relationships with our clients
- Presenting your creative work internally and to our clients
- Maintain and champion high quality copywriting standards for all the agency’s output
Experience and skills - must have:
- At least two years demonstrable on-the-job experience of strong writing skills across a range of media types (offline and online)
- The skills to accurately copy check and edit written work produced by others.
- Proven collaborative skills working with people inside and outside the organisation
- Ability to think creatively and strategically about content, what works and why
- An appreciation of how to apply and develop a brand tone of voice
Experience and skills - nice to have:
- Experience of a variety of social media platforms and how to maximise their potential to create influential campaigns
- An understanding of the role of analytics in online content creation and optimisation
- Experience of working with complex organisations, ideally across B2C and B2B
- Experience of using a content management system
- Experience of multimedia reporting and producing compelling high quality audio and video content
