DUTY MANAGER
Herons Leisure Centre, Herne Bay

PERMANENT: part-time, 24 hrs per week with the flexibility to work additional cover hours at this & our Whitstable Swimming Pool
salary FTE £19,099 per annum

Active Life is a not for profit, registered charity offering a comprehensive range of sports, fitness and health promotion activities delivered through our five leisure and fitness sites in the Canterbury and Coastal district.

Herons Leisure Centre is equipped with 2 swimming pools, a 36 station gym, 3 fitness studios, a creche and a cafe. Our Duty Managers are responsible for assisting the Centre Manager in the efficient and effective running of the Leisure Centre, with a key focus on customer satisfaction, managing staff & the facility’s programme, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and the health and safety of both staff and customers.

We are looking for a confident, positive and motivated individual with previous experience in a supervisory role, preferably within the Leisure Industry. You’ll also need to be calm under pressure, responsible and experienced in ensuring set procedures are followed and monitored.

Excellent communication skills are also essential, as you’ll be looking after customers and managing employees.

You’ll hold a current lifeguarding qualification and ideally First Aid at Work and Pool Plant Operator qualifications. However, fully funded training is available to the successful candidate to achieve these qualifications. You’ll also need to be able to work the contracted hours over a variable working week including early mornings, evenings and weekends. Availability for cover will also be a required.
