School Sports Development Officer

Academy: The Hayesbrook School, Tonbridge, Kent

Salary/Grade: Kent Scheme 5/6, £18,000 -£22,000 pro rata, 37.5 hours per week, term time only

Start date: September 2018

Based at The Hayesbrook School, the Tonbridge & West Kent School Sports Partnership is committed to providing high quality physical education sporting opportunities across the schools within the local area. The partnership delivers the national School Games programme, and offers a comprehensive buy-in scheme to support primary schools achieve the recommended outcomes of the sport premium funding. The School Sports Partnership also works with National Governing Bodies and other agencies assisting the development of coaches, officials, volunteers and the wider workforce.

The Tonbridge & West Kent School Sport Partnership (TWKSSP) is looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic Sports Development Officer to take on this exciting role and support the progression and development of physical education and school sport within the TWKSSP. The role is full time and is fixed term until the end of the academic year, due to funding, which will be reviewed annually.
The post holder will support in the delivery of the partnership PE programme, develop an extensive school sport offer and assist in the facilitation of events, festivals and community driven projects to raise standards and enhance the school’s physical activity opportunities.

We currently work with 75 schools across Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and Cranbrook supporting these schools in a number of ways that is appropriate and applicable to them.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff to share this commitment. All posts are subject to vetting checks including an Enhanced DBS check and references. An overseas police check will be required by candidates who have worked or resided outside of the UK.
