Profile

To work as part of a small team to help preserve and maintain the public and private apartments of Penshurst Place and ensure they are cleaned to the highest standards. There is the possibility of on site accommodation with this position; may suit a couple.

Key Duties

• Cleaning and servicing of the public state rooms and private apartments, including dusting, polishing and hoovering
• Assisting in arranging laundry, including ironing and dry cleaning
• Ensuring the cleanliness of guest bedrooms and bathrooms, including making beds and changing linen
• When guests are staying, to lay for breakfast and clear away lunch and dinner
• To ensure that all equipment is in good working order, report defects and ensure adequate cleaning stocks are available

Responsibilities

• To maintain good relations with colleagues at all times, including staff, tenants, contractors and visiting public
• To undertake training as required to fulfil the needs of the position
• To observe all fire regulations, Health and Safety security regulations, and to take reasonable care for both your own safety and the safety of others.

Person specification

• Experience working as a housekeeper, preferably with a background in the leisure or hospitality sector
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent customer service skills
• The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
• The ability to work with discretion and confidentiality at all times
• Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and public holidays subject to a rota system
• Enthusiastic and positive with a ‘can do’ outlook
• Driver with own car
