Laboratory Technician

My Client is the sole manufacturer of their product in the whole of the UK. They are now looking to recruit an experienced Laboratory Technician to be responsible for a wide range of activities.

Quality is critical to the current business and places the Company at a competitive advantage to other manufacturers.

The Role: Laboratory Technician

To assure test method integrity through equipment and method control

Manage application of EN 14647, ISO 9001:2008 and other applicable standards within the laboratory

Ensure regular exchange between customer services and packaging on finished product quality and production on in-process quality

Receive and process UK quality customer complaints

Assists the process team when necessary

Production trials

Efficiency improvements

The collection of samples from various locations on site

Test and record results in QC database

Development of section duties including light machine maintenance/fault finding/programme analysis

Assist the development of manufacturing activities through all types of laboratory work.

Conduct well defined process studies

Work as one of a small team of technicians



Skills / Qualifications / Experience: Laboratory Technician

Science based degree ideally

Or: Qualified in scientific based subjects to at least Higher National Certificate / BTEC Level 5

Experienced in scientific testing of materials with accurate data recording

Physically fit and capable of manual lifting (ideally up to 10kg)

Self-starter with good communication skills and positive outlook to help achieve best practice

Statistics at "A" level or higher an advantage

Cement/concrete testing experience desirable

Process studies experience

FLT Licence desirable

Computer Hardware and Robotics Experience desirable (Work or Hobby)



Monday - Friday: 8 hours per day - between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00 pm
