Demelza provides specialist care and emotional support for children and young people with terminal conditions and their loved ones, across Kent, East Sussex and South East London.

Money raised through our retail outlets helps us to be there for children and families when they need us most.

We seek an experienced Assistant Shop Manager to support the Shop Manager at our Maidstone Shopping Outlet, to assume full responsibility for all aspects of the shop in the absence of the Shop Manager and provide support and leadership to the volunteers.

You will have a good level of understanding of high street retail fashion and furniture retail, with previous experience in a customer facing environment. Ideally this will include previous work in a charity retail environment. You will have previously worked with sales and profit targets and be able to work under pressure.

You will have the ability to adapt to a changing workload, using your own initiative and effectively manage your time. The role involves working alongside and assisting in the management and development of a team of dedicated volunteers; you will have the skills to prioritise workload and provide guidance and training.

Flexibility of working days will be required and hours will include weekend working as well as occasional bank holidays. This role will require moderate moving and handling. A valid driving licence and willingness to drive a Luton van would be beneficial.
