Plant Manager

We are now recruiting for a Plant Manager; this is a multi-skilled role, the Plant Manager responsible for ensuring safe & efficient operation of process plant and site utilities whilst maintaining effective operational communication & management of resource within the Production department. You MUST have Minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience within a GMP or Fine Chemicals top tier COMAH environment.

Relocation - We will also review those who are qualified and have the right skills needed, who are looking to relocate.

All about the role

• Coordination: - Of the training requirements within the Production department. Personnel & site process operations in consultation with other departmental managers, supervisors & staff, optimising production performance
• Issue of Permit to Work certification, Method Statements & associated RA”s where appropriate. Supervision of chemical hose inspection maintenance regime
• Accountability for the upkeep & maintenance of Plant Training and Operating Manuals within the Production Department. Maintaining optimum plant performance & process efficiency.
• Liaison with Front Office, Sales and Transport Department on production related issues to meet the business requirements.
• Support day to day activities within the Production Department during periods of absence of the Production Manager.
• Management of waste process water disposal, minimising cost to the business. Supervision of forklift training competency programme, Management of site DGSA policy & 6S protocol
• Maintain & issuance of Operating Instructions
• In conjunction with other departmental managers, implement, control & maintain safe systems of operation ensuring effective & precise reporting mechanisms are maintained.
• Review existing process technology and submit proposals to the Production Manager for improvements in production rates, yields, environmental performance and quality.
• Generate weekly & monthly performance reports. Implement production schedules in response to business requirements in consultation with Production Manager and Logistics & Sales
• Support & lead CI, SHEQ & process initiatives. Deputise for the Production Manager in his absence
• Ensure production is operated in a manner conducive to Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Practices, with reference to maintaining excellent standards of housekeeping

All About you

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, independent self-starter, educated to degree level in a scientific discipline demonstrating proven operational experience within a GMP or Fine Chemicals environment, possessing excellent verbal, technical & personal communication skills.
Own transport is essential.
Must have degree in scientific field along with a proven team leader, enthusiastic, adaptable & flexible IT competency in Excel and SAP
Ideally have Experience of fractional distillation and hold a Safety qualification and HAZOP/RA experience

This role is 40 hours per week flexible to participate in the “on call” rota out of “normal hours”. Competitive salary, 33 days holiday (Bank Holidays inclusive), Bonus
