Established in 1997, Rainsford Contracts Ltd are a successful carpentry and joinery company that have grown from strength to strength, forging relationships and gaining contracts within the residential and commercial markets, working on both new build, refurbishment and fit-out projects.

We are currently have a maternity cover vacancy for a Finance Manager based in Westerham Kent.

We need someone with experience of accounting in construction.

Duties will include but will not be limited to:

Management Accounting
• Analyse and posting of regular month end journals
• Analyse and post petty cash expenditures
Cashflow
• Daily cash management, including review of daily bank reconciliations
• Preparation and maintenance of 13 weeks short-term cash flow projection, including analysis of actual income and expenditure and explanation of major variances
CVRs
• Process the monthly Evision CVR entry process by:
- Creating CVRs within the system
- Providing support to the commercial team with the entry of CVRs or with queries as required
- Running jet reports to check that all CVRs have been accurately entered and that they agree to the supporting CVR analysis spreadsheets
- Review the CVRs once completed by QS/approved by Commercial Director and post
Audit and Tax
• Accurate preparation and timely submission of quarterly VAT returns (including adjusting for proforma invoices and fuel scale charges as required
Ledgers
• Purchase Ledger - putting together payment runs and month end closure procedure and laising with suppliers
• Subcontract Ledger – weekly payment runs, month end close procedure, CIS tax month end close and CIS returns
• Sales Ledger – processing and management of sales invoices, cash receipts forecasts, new job and pipeline set up and month end close procedure.
• Review of aged debtor and aged creditor reports
Other
• Primary point of contact for Accountants, Bank and Evision
• Process payments via the BACS and Banking online system
• Accurate preparation of annual CITB levy returns
• Completion and return of all office for national statistics enquiries (including payroll) ahead of the required deadline
• Other tasks and duties required by the business as they arise

Skills/Personal attributes
- Significant experience of Subcontractor Ledger and Purchase Ledger processing, including CIS
- Construction sector experience essential
- Experience of preparing VAT returns, understanding of different VAT rates, understanding of proforma VAT
- Confident in the use of financial computer systems (experience of Microsoft Navision preferred)
- Skilled in Excel to advanced level
- Experience of preparing payroll and detailed understanding of PAYE, NIC, Pension auto-enrolment desired but not essential
- Ability to multi-task and to consistently deliver to tight reporting deadlines
- Demonstrate "can do" attitude, self-review and high degree of accuracy at all times
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills with internal and external contacts at all levels
