An exceptional new instruction for a European Planning Manager with global manufacturing/FMCG company within the area.
The position reports to the Operations Director and the position has become available due to an internal promotion.
The role itself manages Demand, Supply & Production Planning for the European organisation (UK, France, Germany & Export). There is also a responsibility to manage demand planning in APAC.
We are searching for an individual with at least 5 years in a Supply Planning Manager role within an FMCG environment, plus exposure to other areas of supply chain management.
Team:
You will be responsible for a team of approximately 12 based within the UK and an individual based in Singapore – demand planning, supply planning and production planning.
Responsibilities:
Maintaining a high customer service levels through availability of stock
Development of the demand plan for the business
Ownership of key steps of the S & OP process and generation of reports associated with S&OP
Setting and then managing appropriate inventory targets for all brands and sales divisions
Using the most appropriate safety stock policies to balance service with inventory cost
Portfolio and product life cycle management and liaison with PMO and procurement – avoiding write off of obsolete and hitting launch date for new
Regular reporting locally and to US leadership
Ensuring appropriate production schedules are provided to the manufacturing team
Capacity planning for local and global requirements
Leadership and continual professional development of the team
Continual development and improvement of planning processes
Key KPI’s:
Customer service OTIF
Inventory vs target
SKU efficiency
Slow Moving and remnant stock
Skills & Knowledge:
Qualifications, knowledge, training of experience required for the post:
Ideally degree level education or equivalent
At least 5 years’ experience in a supply planning manager role within FMCG environment plus exposure to other areas of supply chain management
- Prior experience in other functions an advantage
- Experience in a factory environment an advantage
The ability to lead cross functionally, forge strong working relationships and build effective project teams sometimes across borders
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Experience in working with a multi-national organisation and managing overseas employees would be a distinct advantage for working with overseas colleagues
Decision-making – the ability to analyse and interpret data to make accurate and expedient decisions
Commercially aware with a clear focus on driving excellent sales results through availability of stock
Self-motivated with the ability to plan ahead and use initiative
Willing to challenge constructively and proactively propose solutions
Confident user of IT systems including SAP
Awareness of differing requirements and expectations in different markets – eg. regulatory, cultural.
Lead on the development of culture, workplace environment and employment practices in a way that strengthens the business’s capability and capacity for change
Experience in building functional teams in business experiencing rapid growth
Health & Safety:
To support safety as a top priority
The ensure oneself and others, is aware of, understands and follows all Company Health & Safety instructions.
To report any accidents of near misses to the H & S Manager
This position is based on 37 hours per week
