The Orchard is a private events and wedding venue hosting in excess of 100 weddings per year. As a family run business, we put the guest journey at the forefront of all we do. We have an excellent team of sales, planning and operations, all of whom work together to ensure we are delivering 5* service and exceeding our guest’s expectations, delivering them the wedding day they always dreamed of.

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to work with the team to continue driving quality service and to be part of our on-going journey to success. Customer service skills, operational experience and knowledge of the events and hospitality industry are essential to this role. Given our business is predominantly weddings, it will be assumed by the successful applicant that evenings, weekends and anti-social hours will be required. This is a full-time role based on a minimum of 40 hours in line with business needs.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to;

Responsible for resourcing best price on all wet/dry store /equipment. Gaining authorisation from Director before ordering.
Responsible for all wet orders ensuring adequate stock levels at all times.
On a quarterly basis research competition for wet sales margins and implement price increases.
Responsible for completion of event preparation sheet ensuring for a perfect event set up.
Responsible for complete event set up and organising staff assistance when required to complete task.
Responsible for all monies, change in till drawers and staff handover. Reporting any discrepancies to the Business Manager.
To sign off all deliveries and reconcile with delivery note.
Responsible if on duty for the security of the premises and completing the security log.
To maintain an excellence standard of housekeeping throughout using daily checks and identifying maintenance issues.
To run a weekly team meeting with General Manager and Sales Manager to ensure planning is complete for all upcoming events.
Responsible for all rota’s being completed with competent staff 4 weeks prior to event date.
Responsible for the staff at all events to ensure smooth running and staff levels are adequate for the guest numbers.
In attendance at each event as required and agreed with the general manager.
To ensure all staff training is completed with every new starter and records kept.
To maintain a high standard of personal appearance with all staff members to be checked prior to every shift.
To arrange and complete quarterly training sessions to include health & safety and fire drills and identifying any further training needs.
To complete appropriate risk assessments and complete fire & alarm log books.
Responsible for full cleaning, maintenance and organisation of cellar & lines, all bars, glass wear, and equipment on a weekly basis.
Ensuring all working areas are clear and hazard free on a weekly basis.
To assign staff to complete daily tasks and function close sheets.
At all times to carry yourself in a professional manner and handle any difficult situations. Logging any customer issues and reporting to Business Manager to follow up.
To record any wastages and breakages. Report to Business Manager.
Responsible for noise management and all door & window policies are adhered to.
To assist in Kitchen when required. Ensuring cleanliness of Kitchen and completing temperature logs.
