Position Expectations
In this role you will be managing the delivery of multi-disciplinary engineering projects from inception to completion. Leading project teams of in-house engineering staff, internal clients, consultants, contractors and Stakeholders to deliver needed outcomes from project investments.
The purpose of this job is to effectively plan, communicate, manage and deliver a range of exciting and challenging Engineering Projects
The role is at the forefront of customer service delivery both internally and externally and the post holder need a strong customer focus and be service minded.
Key Duties
• Lead and manage project teams delivering a range of engineering projects from inception to completion
• Line manager for a team of engineers and technicians with project management experience
• Agree and document scope of projects
• Produce Gateway approval papers and present for approval
• Manage project financials
• Produce high level project plans
• Proactively communicate with project stakeholders
• Ensure that projects are delivered safely and in compliance with all applicable legislation.
• Championing customer service delivery by ensuring robust planning, effective communication and timely delivery.
• To establish and maintain early warning systems for deliverables in danger of being missed and affecting the project.
Skills & Experience
• B.Sc. or above in project management, construction management or engineering Discipline
• A minimum of 3 years of managing projects including:
o Programme & Project Management
o Planning
o Health & Safety Management.
o Financial Management
o Contract Management
• Proven track record of managing projects through the project lifecycle from concept to handover, within timescales and within set budgets.
• Delivering multi-disciplinary programmes and projects for infrastructure maintenance and
development.
• Analysis of processes and project workstreams.
• Strong people and performance management skills.
