This opportunity is for a six month zero hours fixed term contract, working up to 12 hours per week.

We are looking for two enthusiastic individuals to join our Clarion Futures team on a casual basis, in order to support the set up and roll-out of digital support for residents and members of the community across Jobs & Training sites within Clarion Futures. Successful candidates will be a fundamental part of a Big Lottery funded project called One Digital. You can read more about this Clarion Futures project here www.onedigitaluk.com

One Digital is all about building the digital ability and confidence of people who need support. This work helps us to better understand and tackle those barriers to being digitally included. There are many benefits to being online, but unfortunately these are not shared by everyone. As many services move to digital delivery (commonly referred to as 'digital by default') - many people risk being excluded from essential services. One Digital is working to reduce the numbers of people at risk of digital exclusion, and is aiming to enhance the employment journey for many.

Your role:

* Help us to build the basic digital skills (BDS) of people going through our Love London Working & Ready2Work programmes - which in turn will help enhance the employment journey for clients.
* Work with Clarion staff, project partners and other Digital Champions to ensure opportunities are provided for residents and members of the community; to gain basic digital skills and better access job and training opportunities.
* Gain satisfaction from helping others to gain new skills, solve problems, save money and enhance their livelihoods.
* Recognition by obtaining Mozilla Open Badges to showcase your skills.
* Develop your communication, people and problem solving skills.

Have you supported others, including family and friends to get online and safely learn to use the internet as an everyday tool?

Are you comfortable using a computer and navigating the online environment?

Would you be happy to work as part of a team or on your own?

Are you interested and open to developing your own online skills and knowledge?

Are you patient and a good listener with good communication skills, and an ability to explain things in simple terms?

Are you approachable and presentable, with an ability to empathise with different people?

Maybe you have worked as a volunteer trainer or tutor in the past?

Would you feel confident to instruct others and report back learning and challenges?

Would you feel confident to use a range of digital technology such as PCs, laptops, smartphones and tablets for varied tasks including searching the Internet, e-mail, using social media, e.g. Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube?

Are you interested in people's interests and different motivations for learning?



You will work from our offices in either Maxwell Park Community Centre in Borehamwood, our head office in More London Place, London Bridge or Eastside in Tower Hamlets.

Closing Date: Wednesday 18th July 2018 at Midday
