Are you an experienced Projects Officer? Can you provide executive and strategic support within a higher education environment? The Faculty of Social Sciences are offering an exciting opportunity to join their team.

You will be a highly numerate and articulate individual with the ability to see beyond the numbers and understand the bigger picture; someone who has excellent synthesis and integration skills and is able to communicate and build rapport with people at all levels of the organisation.

You will also have a high degree of personal initiative and responsibility. Working with little supervision, you will be required to demonstrate considerable independence in the arrangement of your work.

As Information and Projects Officer you will:
◾Work closely with the Dean and Head of Administration to provide strategic support through the provision of a variety of data and information analysis
◾Lead on, advise and undertake projects in order to support Faculty and University Strategy
◾Provide a high level executive support function to ensure that an efficient and effective service is provided to the Dean and Faculty team

To be successful in this role you will have:
◾Good first degree or equivalent professional experience
◾Significant experience of working in a similar role in an administrative capacity
◾Experience of researching, analysing and collating data and competently summarising information from a range of audiences

Academic Schools at the University of Kent are grouped into three Faculties:

•Humanities
•Sciences
•Social Sciences

Each Faculty is led by a Dean who, as the Head of the Faculty, holds strategic and management responsibility for the Faculty through the line management of each of the Heads of Academic Schools. The Head of Administration is responsible for all administrative functions and staff within the Faculty and its respective Schools and Centres. The Associate Deans are drawn from academic staff within the Faculty and are responsible for leadership in the specific areas of Graduate Studies, Learning and Teaching and Research & Innovation. In Social Sciences, the Associate Deans also act as Deputy Dean. Each Faculty has a number of Faculty Directors who support the Dean in undertaking their role in key areas of Faculty business such as recruitment, student experience, internationalisation and public engagement activity. All of these individuals along with the Information and Project Officer and the Dean’s PA make up the Faculty Team.
