We are a well established transport company specialising in the overnight national distribution of fresh produce to wholesale fruit and vegetable markets..

An opportunity has arisen for a Training & Compliance manager based at our distribution centre in Staplehurst, Kent

The role

You will play an important role within the transport Management Team with primary focus on training and development of employees including warehouse personnel and a pool of night and day drivers.

H & S compliance / WTD compliance / Driver CPC training

You will also play a pivotal role in the training and development of warehouse personnel responsible for loading and unloading LGV vehicles.

You will carry out Driver Assessments, Tacho Analysis, Driver style and compliance training. You will lead training on the road and in the classroom. You will be involved in driver recruitment and inductions working alongside senior managers.

This is a complete training role and will include driving.

What you will need to succeed;

You will have previous experience particularly in a driver training role, You will hold a Class 1 LGV licence, ideally hold a CPC in Road Haulage operations, have a comprehensive knowledge of Transport Compliance and will have preferably worked within a large/similar organisation..

You will understand the business operation and have the ability to communicate at all levels, to thrive alongside a busy and fast paced transport operation working effectively using your own initiative and interact as part of a team.

You will be will be expected to consolidate and monitor fuel performance data and improve fuel returns with regular driver development training.

We are seeking an individual with significant drive and determination to make continuous improvements. You will enjoy a high level of autonomy you will have strong training skills and be able to coach, mentor and demonstrate results to the senior management team.

Computer literacy essential

Shift pattern;
Monday – Friday Hours to suit the business (plus occasional Saturdays to suit training requirements where necessary)
