The role: The Community Housing Role has been commissioned by Kent County Council Families and Social Care (Adults), Public Health and Kent Clinical Commissioning Groups and is part of the Live Well Kent contract to support adults (17+) in Kent with mental health issues who have an identified housing-related issue
The aim of the service is to provide time limited, housing support for individuals with mental health needs and aims to:
Support a case-load of clients with their housing-related issues
Offer one-to-one support to some of the most vulnerable people in our society
Help clients to access the appropriate welfare and benefits they are entitled to
Give Advice and Guidance, sign-posting and referring to more specialised services where appropriate
Advocate on clients’ behalf
Reduce pressure on Statutory Services
What you need: As part of the Community Mental Health and Housing Service you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle conflicting demands. You must have experience of supporting people either with mental health needs and/or homelessness in the community and working with a range of statutory and voluntary agencies.
