The Live at Home Scheme Manager is responsible for developing and managing the Live at Home Scheme to meet the needs of older people within the local community. Live at Home Scheme aims to tackle loneliness and isolation within the older generation by providing a variety of activities, including exercise classes, day trips and short holidays through to lunch and breakfast clubs, assisted shopping and befriending services that promote independence and social inclusion. The Scheme could operate across multiple sites within the geographical catchment and all Schemes will vary significantly in size, scale and scope.

The post requires an individual with a range of business and operational skills including budgeting and fundraising, but critically, who possess a strong drive to deliver high quality services that reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness and promote the wellbeing of older people across a range of community settings. Although this scheme will be based within MHA's retirement housing service in Folkestone, this role doesn't including housing or tenancy management.

The Scheme Manager will be responsible for line managing any additional staff appointments to the Scheme - this will depend upon the size of the Scheme and the breadth and volume of services delivered. Volunteers are crucial to the successful operating of any MHA Live at Home Scheme and the Scheme Manager will be responsible for the recruitment and selection and on-going support and supervision of all Volunteers.

Through local Live at Home schemes, MHA provides social contact and support for older people who wish to continue living at home without becoming isolated. We enable people to live a more fulfilled life.

We operate over 70 Live at Home schemes throughout the country. The range of services varies at each scheme, as we respond to the needs of older people in each community. Each has its own Manager and - crucially - a team of committed volunteers.
