Are you a Quantity Surveyor with 3 years experience within the Building Services or Mechanical & Electrical sector? Looking for new position? We've just landed a new role based on the Kent coast which might be what you've been looking for.

* Location: Dover, Kent
* Contract type: Permanent
* Salary: up to £ negotiable and dependant upon experience
* Contracted hours: 37.5 hours per week

The position

* As part of the commercial team you will work in closely with the Commercial Manager and Project Managers for the delivery of commercial requirements of contracts that arise from the delivery of projects.
* You will act as Framework Manager and let, control and monitor works packages and any variations to the packages.
* Estimating costs, cost planning and creating cost reports throughout the delivery of projects.
* Advise the Project Management team on contract compliance.
* Provide a Employer's monthly valuation of works and verify the applications for payment by contractors.
* Check the validity and any subsequent financial evaluation for compensation events, variations, applications for an extension of time and contractual claims.
* Identify and notify the teams of any situations arising that create exposure to risk.
* Assist with identifying any potential environmental risks and where environmental impact can be reduced.
* Identify and manage risk that can affect safety and well being.

About you

Qualifications:

* Educated to HNC as a minimum, but a relevant degree and professional accreditation would be desirable.

Experience:

* A minimum of 5 years experience in Quantity Surveying with 3 years spent within the Building Services or MEP sector. Working in previous customer facing role would strengthen your application.
* Working knowledge of NEC forms of contract and demonstrating the options that may be used in commercial management of contracts.
* Strong negotiation skills.
* Be able to demonstrate a good understanding of Risk Registers and Risk Management.
* Experience of working within a Framework relationship involving multiple contractors previously would be highly desirable but isn't essential.
* Very strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and a good understanding of MS Project is a must.
* Experience of working with software of tendering, contract administration, accounting and data sharing portals.

Skill set:

* Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills.
* Be able deliver presentations to internal and external parties.
* Cost management (Estimating, Planning and Reporting).
* Ability to lead as and when appropriate and encourage other to maintain standards.
* Good level of understanding of Risk Management.
