ABDO College is situated in Godmersham, 7 miles from Canterbury and 6 miles from Ashford.
ABDO College specialises in teaching Dispensing and Contact Lens Opticians by blended learning. This means the students work in practice during the day and at home in the evenings and weekends for much of their course, but attend the College 4 weeks each academic year in 2 blocks of 2 weeks.
We are looking for a suitable person to join our team of dedicated staff to train as a junior technician. The post is full time and the salary is £16,000.
The job role will include;
• Setting up and maintaining teaching rooms and labs
• Maintaining lens sets and equipment
• Constructing new equipment for lab use
• Maintaining budget and ordering
• Maintaining computer network
• Assisting other staff as needed with photocopying, filing, etc.
The personal attributes we are looking for in our new member of staff are;
• Flexible
• Friendly
• Helpful
• Good manual dexterity
• Work well within a team
• Good self-motivation
• Good time management skills
Suitable applicants should have GCSE passes (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
