Transport & Warehouse Operative

Location: Edenbridge

Salary: £18,000 - £20,000 per annum



Status is currently recruiting for a Transport and Warehouse Operative for our client, a packaging contractor in Edenbridge.

The successful candidate should ideally be computer literate and be able to multi-task on a number of projects at the same time. Experience of MIS systems would be beneficial but not essential, a basic knowledge of Word, Exel and emails is required.

You MUST hold a Counter Balance & Reach Truck Fork Lift Licence, and a current full driver's licence.

The main areas you will be working in are:

Stock Control - Dealing with issuing/returning of raw materials and Finished Goods, as well as being involved with month-end stock counts and reconciliations.

Goods In and Goods Out - Creating and executing deliveries from pick list creation through to organising and loading transport. Will be required to cover the day to day running of the department in the absence of the department Manager.

Safe Operation of Machinery - Making yourself aware of operating procedures as well as maintaining any equipment you have been trained to use.

Health & Safety / Housekeeping - Making yourself aware of all health & safety aspects whilst operating machinery you have been trained on, as well as maintaining a clean and tidy environment, including keeping all fire exits free of obstacles.

Hours of Work - Shifts between 0600 & 2100 depending on business requirements, Monday to Friday with a contracted 37½ hour week (7½ hour day). However, overtime will be required to be worked as and when necessary, again, dependent upon business requirements, so flexibility in working hours will be required.
