Javascript Developer
Maidstone

My client is looking ideally for a Javascript Developer with 2 years of experience. However, they would also consider candidates with less experience including recent graduates with a real desire to succeed in this area with some examples of work that can be shown, maybe in the form of Github.
This is an opportunity to join an expanding agile team, working on a greenfield project built on top of their new and innovative cloud platform. They are looking for talented JavaScript developers to help deliver our new range of products to market.
Although you’ll need an eye for detail and will be comfortable working with html and css, they are not looking for a website designer, they need developers who are passionate about JavaScript and are able to utilise good design to implement complex business rules.
There are opportunities for bright candidates to progress quickly within the team and possibilities to work with other technologies such as Java and .Net.
Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the technical lead, you will be expected to:
● Interpret complex business specifications
● Implement requirements using clean and concise code adhering to the team’s coding standards
● Write unit tests for your code
● Create cleanly-styled professional-looking user interfaces
● Adapt quickly to the team’s development tools, processes and version control
Technical Skills
Required
Excellent JavaScript knowledge is paramount for this role. They also require experience of the following:
● HTML & CSS
● JSON
● Object Oriented Design
● Version Control
Desirable
The role will involve the following skills, so any exposure to these would be an advantage:
● Angular2+
● Java and Spring
● AJAX and JQuery
● Unit Testing and Test Driven Development
● Agile methodologies
● Javascript Patterns
● Web Services and Restful APIs
● GIT
● JIRA and VSOnline
● Network and Browser debugging tools (Fiddler, Chrome DevTools and Postman)
● Unit Testing frameworks (Jasmine and Protractor, Mockito)
● npm
Future skills and technologies which may be gained within the role.
● OAUTH2 authorisation framework
● Docker
● Java Micro Services
