Our current CEO is stepping down after almost four years, and we are looking for a dynamic individual to take her place and continue to develop new services and grow the charity.
Tenterden Social Hub is a registered charity. The original Day Centre for older people was established in 1980 in a Victorian former school, where we still operate today; The building was extensively refurbished in 2013. During the early 1990s two other services began from the premises; Tenterden Disabled in Action (a disability day centre) and Helping Hands (a domestic assistance service for older people). The three organisations came together as one charity in 2008, and a re-brand to Tenterden Social Hub was completed in January 2018 to better reflect the way in which we now work.
Applicants will need to demonstrate strategic thought and leadership capabilities, plus excellent people management and communication skills. You will play a key role in the development of the vision for our client groups, by ensuring that the Charity is able to innovate, modernise and respond quickly and effectively to Government policy initiatives and potential partnership arrangements, within the Charity’s overall strategic plan.
You will be able to provide leadership and development to the Charity’s employees and volunteers, setting standards and ensure excellence in the Charity’s provision of services.
You will ensure that the charity contributes to local developments to promote support for our client groups.
You will engage the staff and volunteer teams to propose strategic directions to the Board and implement major operational decisions required to achieve them, ensuring the principle of equality and diversity is implemented within the organisation and to the delivery of services to the users.
You will provide clear, timely and accurate reports to the Board and funders on the Charity’s performance.
The post is for three days per week; the timing of these days will be open to negotiation with the successful applicant, but you must be willing to offer a certain degree of flexibility.
If you think that you have what it takes, please submit your CV, and a full Candidate Brief and details of how to apply will be sent by return.
The closing date for receipt of completed applications is 5.00pm on Monday 9th July. Interviews will be held on Thursday 19th July.
