Job purpose
To carry out light electro-mechanical assembly operations in accordance with engineering drawings and written work instructions to produce precision and complex products as directed by the Assembly Supervisor.
Main duties & responsibilities:
1. The assembly of precision and complex products as directed by the assembly supervisor or the nominated deputy.
2. Work in a manner that is conductive to the health and safety of both oneself and ones colleagues.
3. Must be able to work on your own as well as part of a team.
4. Any other duties given by the assembly supervisor.
Experience
• Experience in the assembly of defence or similar products and equipment.
Skills & Abilities
• Effective communicator
• Able to understand exploded electro-mechanical drawings and adhere to written work instructions and route cards.
• Ability to use a wide range of hand tools.
• Must be able to maintain a very high level of assembly quality.
• Must be able to maintain a clean workstation at all times as cleanliness is critical to the product
Knowledge
• Knowledge of, or exposure to, IPC certification standards.
• Knowledge of, or exposure to LEAN manufacturing techniques.
