Care Team Manager
Nr Rochester, Kent
£24,000 per annum
Our client is registered charity working with adults with physical disabilities and specialising in the care of adults with Huntington's disease, acquired brain injuries and other neurological conditions.
They are currently looking for a Care Team Manager to work in a 23 bedded home in Rochester, Kent. Your main responsibilities will be to ensure the team maintains a high standard of care and individual person centered support for the residents. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior HCA looking for the next step in their Healthcare career.
* Ensure the care team are aware of and implement agreed policies and procedures/care plans/risk assessments/guidelines.
* Work as directed alongside the care team to observe staff practice and ensure that team members understand and endorse the aims and objectives of the organisation.
* Shared responsibility with Deputy Manager and Manager to carry out supervision and appraisal of the care team as allocated by the Manager.
* Assist the Home Manager with staff recruitment procedures.
* Assist the Manager with all aspects of staff training. Carry out regular competency assessments with care staff for specific standards of care such as administering of medication and care certificate observations.
* Be responsible for the management of the activities team to ensure a high standard of person centred activities are delivered to all residents
* Assess prospective residents as required and provide clear documentation of the assessment with a recommendation of whether the Home is able to meet their needs.
* Attend care reviews as necessary.
* Have good knowledge of the Society Medication Policy including Administering Drugs and Storage of Medication and returns
* Work in partnership with the Health Co-Ordinator to be responsible for MAR sheets, data storage, medication documentation and record keeping.
* Be on call at arranged times (night and weekend) to deal with queries as required by the Home.
* Any other duties as requested by the Registered Manager, or a member of the Senior Management Team within the scope of the post.
You will be required to have
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
* Sound knowledge of CQC Standards or Quality and Safety and compliance demonstration
* Evidence of ongoing training and personal development
* Demonstrable experience in staff management or supervising a team
* Experience working as a Senior within a care home environment
