The marketing manager is responsible for working with the event director to draft and implement the marketing plans for the Manufacturing & Engineering portfolio of events. To provide marketing across, but not restricted to:
o Email
o Social media – LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook etc as appropriate
o DM – brochures, tickets, inserts, leaflet etc
o Editorial coverage within our own and external magazines and news outlets in print or digital
o Print and online advertising
o Special print – cover wraps, bellybands
o On site signage to make sure that the campaign is reflected in both the lead up campaign and on site
Role and Responsibilities
1. Events marketing & online content
• Work with relevant members of the events team on marketing plans for delegate and exhibitor recruitment
• Create and implement detailed marketing plans for each event with full timelines
• Liaise with event director to draft compelling marketing copy for print, online & email marketing campaigns
• Create inbound (social media) marketing campaigns for all events and ensure effective completion
• Work with the event director to maintain a steady flow of event marketing content
• Work with editorial teams to ensure they have event copy that is subbed and ready for layout
• Liaise with Production and the appropriate publishing director, to make sure that editorial and advertising is booked in with sufficient lead time to deliver the campaign
• Monitor and compare the pre-reg levels to be able to adjust any campaign in plenty of time to make sure that the numbers are delivered at appropriate levels
• Maintain and monitor the marketing budget for the event and work with the event director to make sure that the best campaign at the best value for money is achieved
2. Event brochures, guides & catalogues
• Create compelling copy for all event literature supported by event director
• Draft copy where required for event guides
• Work with the Studio to brief them for the creation of compelling event imagery / marketing collateral
• Liaise with event co-ordinator and/or production team to obtain exhibitor information if required
• Oversee the proofing and production of all brochures and catalogues through to final sign off
3. Website content optimisation
• Ensure all event websites are up to date with the latest event information and comply with current SEO best practice
• Draft copy for event websites to ensure all introductions and keywords are complete and correct to maximise SEO
