The Kent Mining Museum will provide a focus for the Kent coalfield’s communities and its long closed collieries; bringing together and conserving nationally important stories, memories, archives and objects. The story is a special one, with no previous history of coal mining, families travelled from all of Great Britain’s coalfields throughout the 20th century, bringing their skills and traditions to Kent.
We are looking for new Coalfield Learning Curator, whose key task will be to help unlock the unique social and industrial history of these communities; primarily though the delivery of the Museum’s learning and engagement programme. The post is based at the museum but will also work across East Kent, providing outreach to our users and support for our coalfield heritage partners.
The successful candidates will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) and to provide proof of their right to work in the UK. Due to the rural nature of East Kent and the requirements of both roles access to transport is essential.
The job description and application form can be downloaded from our website www.betteshangerparks.co.uk, or www.hadlow.ac.uk. Alternatively, you can request an application pack by emailing jobs@hadlow.ac.uk or telephoning 01732 853616.
The closing date for applications is Friday 27th June 2018
Interviews will be held on Wednesday 4th July 2018
