Are you up for a real challenge in a small company environment?
Design Forum is a furnishing fabric distribution company established for 15+ years.
It needs a kick start and some effective leadership.
The successful candidate must be able help to maintain a strong organisational infrastructure and office management system.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the day to day administration and smooth running of the companies’ day to day activities as well as, and very importantly, drive the company upwards and onwards.
Equity will be offered to a strong applicant, and the objective is to realise this in 3-5 years. (Sale, MBO etc)
Desired Skills & Expertise:
- Understand and have experience of a trading business
- Work independently
- Possess the ability to be proactive, innovative and flexible
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate calmly when under pressure
- Excellent at problem-solving and keen to embrace a challenge
- Keen team player, self-motivated, able to use your own initiative and organise your own workload
- Experience using Sage useful
- Articulate, with excellent verbal and written skills with a good telephone manner
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word
- Willing to share best practice
- Highly organised
- Punctual, reliable and a real team player
- Own Transport
Key responsibilities:
- Turn business around
- Implementing new and efficient document filing systems, both hard copy and digital
- Preparing, checking and submitting sales orders and dealing with any subsequent related queries
- Manage all telephone calls
- Administrative support to assist with preparing reports, presentation and ad-hoc requirements
- Maintaining and managing a strong working relationship with all of Design Forum clients
- Raising purchase orders for stock and incidental orders against incoming orders
- Marry incoming delivery notes against purchase orders
- Preparing invoices for accounts to sign off
- prepare weekly meeting agenda with full time employed representative for all ongoing matters
- Work closely with multiple sales agents and monitor their progress
- Provide weekly assessment report of sales both in house and from sales staff to Managing Director
Hours: 8.30 – 5.30 OR 8.00 – 5.00 (Mon-Fri)
Holiday: 20 Days (plus 8 Bank Holidays)
