We are looking to appoint an HR Project Officer on either a part time (28 hrs pw) or full time basis until 31 December 2018, to support an exciting University-wide programme. The Recognising Excellence in Academia programme focuses on three project streams: recognition and reward for excellence in education, research & innovation, and citizenship & leadership. These project streams will complement each other and allow for the formulation of clear criteria for all areas of academic work (in the shape of an ‘Academic Career Map’), that can be used to support the appointment, probation, appraisal and promotion of academic staff.
If you have previous experience in a project support, communications or HR role, this role could be for you! Supporting the Project Manager, you will engage with academic staff and other key stakeholders across the University, to help shape the Academic Career Map, promote it to our staff, and help embed it into our key people practices.
You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail, and will be able to translate concepts and expectations, into clearly articulated and engaging guidance and support for staff, to help them manage and develop their careers.
The Employee Relations and Business Partnering (ERBP) team is the key and initial point of access to Human Resources for the University schools and professional service departments and acts as a hub, drawing in expertise from the other HR centres of excellence and making referrals as appropriate.
The team members work collaboratively to deliver HR services in support of business needs and will lead on all employee relations, immigration and organisational change matters.
The HR Business Partners (HRBPs) work closely with specific portfolios of the University, working with the senior leaders to develop a people agenda that closely supports the overall aims of the portfolio, builds upon the strategic objectives within the HR People Strategy, and helps to achieve the wider University Strategy.
The Employee Relations Advisers support the Business Partners by providing dedicated case management support to designated portfolios, providing advice and support to managers and staff on matters relating to dealing with people.
The Policies & Projects team deliver cross-institutional strategic projects to support the development of the HR People Strategy, as well as manage the creation, review and development of HR People Practices.
The Staff Immigration team provide specialist staffing immigration support to ensure the University is complaint with all aspects of Immigration legislation relating to its staff.
