Red Eagle Recruitment are looking to recruit a Payroll Manager for our Accountancy Client. The contract will run between 3 to 6 months, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage large payroll i.e. 500 headcount. Knowledge of Safe ENS would be advantageous .To apply please send an up to date CV .
Hours Mon to Fri 9.00 am to 5.00 pm
Salary 35,000 pa (pro rata 6 months 17,500 , 3 months 8, 750.00)
Responsibilities
· Ensuring that all payrolls are processed on time
· Taking responsibility for approximately 500 + monthly payrolls
· Managing a team and working alongside them to enable effective processing
· Provide support to managers and partners, and supervising junior staff.
· Reporting to managers and partners and taking responsibility for completing tasks accurately, to deadline and liaise effectively
· Address all issues and enquiries as and when they arise
· Demonstrating initiative and judgement
· Maintaining technical expertise
· Providing immediate advice, guidance or instruction to a team
The Individual
Capability, Knowledge and Experience:
· Demonstrable competence in effective people management
· Experience in dealing with a payroll Bureau of a reasonable size is essential.
· Experience or the ability to use Sage is essential.
· Experience in managing a limited number of staff would be helpful but not essential.
· Working knowledge of PAYE, efiling, SMP, SSP, Student loans and an awareness of the impact of changes on employment arrangements.
· Knowledge of BACS systems.
· Ability to convert manual payroll to computerised especially mid-year.
· Ability to operate a manual PAYE system even though all are computerised using Sage.
· General knowledge of redundancy rules and basic employment legislation.
· General knowledge of employment legislation.

· Strong attention to detail
· Self driven and highly motivated
· Team Player
· Resilient
· Approachable and available
