We are currently looking to recruit Class 1 / MAFI truck drivers to work for my client situated on the eastern Docks. Applicants do not require to have a valid Class 1 licence, but must of previously held one :-
Work involves shunting containers around my clients yard that is either loaded by crane or reach stacker.
Working hours are:-
Week 1:- 2 x 12 Hour Shifts
Week 2:- 3 x 12 Hour Shifts
Working days and start times are between Friday and a Monday, Start times are given approximately 48 hours before boat arrival, so all
applicants must be flexible and be able to work nights on occasions as start times are dependant on the ships arrival.
Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be physically fit, and be prepared to work in a busy and high paced environment.
Due to the location of my clients site -
ALL staff are required to take a drug and alcohol screening test. There is a zero tolerance on any illegal drugs or excessive use of alcohol. The test will be carried out prior to you being offered work and you will be subject to random tests throughout the year. If any tests come back as a fail , work will stop immediately and you will not be allowed to work at any site within the docks.
You will also have a basic vetting which covers:-
Identity checks
Address Checks
Criminal Record Checks
If you believe you will not pass the test/vetting, please DO NOT apply.
For this role you DO need to have a valid pallet truck licence but you MUST experience with ride on machinery.
Pay Rates:-
£9.00 PH - £9.56 after 13 weeks
We also pay an additional £1 ph for working between 10pm and 6am, plus double time for bank holidays, and double time for working longer than a 12 hour shift.

Valid passport/ID Card or full A4 birth certificate
Hard copy proof of your national insurance number
Photo ID (If you do not have a passport)
Proof of your address
Proof of previous HGV 1 work
Own transport unless you live in Dover, this is due to some of the start and finish times.
Training days to be confirmed.
ALL APPLICANTS WILL HAVE TO ATTEND A REGISTRATION AND BASIC INDUCTION AT OUR OFFICE IN HERNE BAY. YOU WILL ALSO BE REQUIRED TO TAKE A DRUG AND ALCOHOL TEST.
