Ourclient, an entertainment company based in Herne Bay, is currentlylooking to recruit Cook to work on a temporary basis initially fromApril until September. The sucssful Cook will need to be able to start working as soon as possible.


Working 37 hours perweek on a shift rotation between 10am - 11pm, and will include workingat evenings and weekends. This role will be paying an hourly rate of £10.00 per hour.

The successful candidate will develop menus, cook and prepare food for the café, bar and functions.

Duties & Responsibilities

* To maintain a clean, safe environment for all customers.
* To serve every customer in a friendly and professional manner.
* Prepare and cook foods of all types (for café, bar, weddings, functions etc.)
* Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers engaged in food preparation, cooking, garnishing, presentation or serving.
* Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies such as food, ingredients and other kitchen supplies.
* Check the quantity and quality of goods received.
* Maintain records of stock control.
* Collaborate with managers to plan and develop menus, taking into account such factors as budget, needs of customers, seasonal availability of ingredients, and the likely number of customers.
* Inspect supplies, equipment and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards and health and safety regulations.
* Oversee washing and cleaning of floors, crockery, utensils, work surfaces and other kitchen equipment to ensure the necessary hygiene and health and safety standards are met and maintained.
* Ensure appropriate clothing is worn at all times.
* Cooperate fully with any statutory inspections and implement any recommendations.
* To understand responsibilities in terms of fire procedures, health and safety, COSSH, infection control, food hygiene and emergency first aid.

Person Specification

* NVQ Level 2 in professional cookery or equivalent.
* Level 2 in Food Safety.
* An enthusiastic, friendly and approachable manner with customers and staff.
