Creche Assistant at Kingsmead Leisure Centre, Canterbury.

6 hours per week: Mondays & Fridays 9:30 am - 12:30 pm + ad-hoc overtime for covering absence within the Crèche team.

£7.48 or £7.83* per hour - equivalent to the full-time salary of £15,214 or £15,926* per annum
(*£7.83 rate paid to employees aged 25+ in line with the National Living Wage)

Specific responsibilities include:
• Preparing the Crèche in advance of opening;
• keeping accurate records of the children attending the Crèche;
• providing consistent care and engaging play for the children;
• following policies and procedures to ensure the safety, welfare and enjoyment of the children;
• clearing away and cleaning on closing.

What you'll need:
• A Level 2 Certificate or Diploma in the field of Early Years Care & Education / Childcare;
• to be experienced and capable in working with children and a genuine interest in doing so;
• a friendly, professional and positive attitude;
• to be reliable and flexible, smart and well presented;
• the ability to remain calm under pressure, communicate with parents and work within a busy environment;
• An enhanced DBS certificate (this can be obtained by Active Life after job offer, subject to the receipt of the DBS certificate, before start date).
