Communications Assistant
(Salary up to £19,000 depending on experience)

Howletts & Port Lympne Wild Animal Parks, in conjunction with the Aspinall Foundation, are a charity based organisation committed to protecting rare and endangered animals from extinction through captive breeding and reintroduction programmes. The parks are home of one of the world’s most prized wild animal collections and are one of the biggest visitor attractions in Kent.

Supporting the Communications Manager, you’ll be at the heart of driving marketing campaigns for our organisation. This is a very exciting time for the department as we expand our Short Breaks. An important cog in the marketing wheel, you'll be expected to be involved at all levels, including liaising with creative and media agencies, updating product holders, organising and attending promotional events and more.

This job is full of variety and you’ll need to be able to turn your hand to a multitude of tasks. Regular duties will also include;
• Creating artwork briefs
• Managing the artwork process
• Creating collateral (including brochures/leaflets/posters)
• Liaising with suppliers to ensure artwork & editorial deadlines are met
• Seeking marketing opportunities (free & paid)
• Attending trade shows
• Supplying content for regular e-newsletters
• Administration
• Working with the short breaks sales team to ensure that sales promotions are effectively communicated
• Managing listings
• Maintaining media relationships
• Market research

The ideal candidate should be organised, positive and articulate with excellent communication skills and previous marketing experience in a B2C environment. Good IT skills, including a full working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential. You will also have excellent attention to detail and be self motivated to achieve high standards of organisation. This is a very fast paced working environment.

This permanent role is 40 hours per week, worked 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and will include working weekends and bank holidays on rare occasions.
