To support and manage the team with a goal to achieve all depot objectives in terms of team morale, customer retention and growth through effective management of employees and depot staff. To ensure all company guidelines are met such as company operating standards and operational timings and procedures.

You will be liasing with fellow shift managers to fully plan the day as a team. You will be working under the instructions of the Operations manager and the Company Directors. They will assist guide and train you to fulfil your potential within this role.

You will be managing all depot employees and to an extent our customers to prepare and satisfy their needs.

Main Responsibilities;

- To Manage Linehaul loading and vehicle unloading efficiently and in line with Company Procedure Guide.
- To Manage, prepare and delegate to PM staff to succeed to the highest possible standard
- To understand the depot routing and the driving team’s requirements to improve the functionality and overall efficiency of the depot and business.
- To manage transport procedures and company vehicles
- To maintain, improve and develop quality procedures
- To participate in the management and planning of all depot staff holiday to meet operational requirements.
- To understand and operate within and exceed all set company service levels.
- To understand and improve company expenditures and stop costs.

We will have different strategic service requirements that may change due to the company’s needs. These will change, develop and evolve. You will always be notified of any changes required to these targets.

Health and Safety;

- To implement and monitor the effectiveness of the Depot Health and Safety Policies, ensuring and maintaining a safe working environment.
- To implement and control the security policies protecting the company including facilitating security awareness and to action vehicle and personnel searches in line with the CPG.

Human Resources;

- To lead and control investigations with the potential to lead to disciplinarians I accordance with depot procedures and Directors instruction.
- To manage depot employees through motivational communication, appraisals and further training when required.

- A vocal, focused, ambitious individual who strives for high standards from the workforce.
- Someone who has an aura of positivity that is portrayed across to other depot employees which can be used as a motivational tool to get the most from the team.
- Someone with a dedicated work ethic who does not give in when times are tough and organisation becomes difficult.

Hours: 09:00 to 19:30 (Depot Finish) Monday to Friday
Plus occasional 4hr Saturdays on Rota
