Second Line Support
Location: Chatham, Kent
Salary: Up to £30,000
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a technical support role
About the role
My client is a global provider of bespoke communication and networking solutions, and they're looking to recruit a customer-facing, technical support engineer to their growing technical support team in Kent. The role requires somebody with a great ability to troubleshoot networking issues including TCP/IP based networks, LAN/WAN issues and mobile network topologies and technologies.
As a 2nd Line Technical Account Manager, you will be the first point of call for specific customers and clients, ensuring that you are able to identify and resolve issues efficiently, whilst providing an excellent support service.
Role Requirements
* Proven track record of providing technical support in a customer-facing role
* knowledge of wireless and cellular networking systems
* Great experience with IP based topologies and technologies
* Able to provide root cause and trend analysis in a proactive manner
* Work closely with customers and clients to provide solutions for technical issues
* Knowledge of Linux
* Experience with diagnosing and resolving telecoms, VoIP, VPN and networking faults
Responsibilities
* Provide second line technical support to customers and clients
* Responsible for a proactive attitude in regards to monitoring and resolving client issues
* Use, maintain and update the internal knowledge base for known and new technical problems
* Test and develop new systems and firmware patches
* Understand when to escalate technical issues to third line level after initial troubleshooting
