Trainee - Technical Customer Support - Construction industry

£16,000 per annum with support with higher education (day release weekly)

Working for one of the largest and fastest moving construction companies established for over 40 years, you will learn and understand the technical aspects of the UK business and the industry sectors and the various competitors whilst assisting and supporting internal and external customers in relation to the wide range of systems they manufacture. As this is a training post, the role gives an overview of business with focus on technical support and to provide a foundation for further study at university.

Duties:

Respond promptly and professionally to all product and systems enquiries whilst understanding the why behind the questions in order to offer the full range of support available.

To provide technical support via phone, email, webchat and social media to internal and external customers in relation to systems

To provide advice and technical input on different design and site items such as drawing/details, design parameters, specifications, general design, theoretical design so that the most suitable solution(s) may be found to these design areas and correct systems recommended for use.

Respond to requests from other departments for input onto projects required technical information such as R&D, NPD, marketing etc.

To research and keep up to date on relevant standards, regulations and industry trends / changes.

Maintain and update accurate records of our drawings, technical bulletins, substantiation reports, test data

Utilising various software platforms for detail design

Condensation risk analysis; loading assessments

Complete and succeed in the associated higher education course.



This role is for a fixed period of 3.5 years with full support to gain professional qualification

Hours; 9-5.30pm /Mon-Fri



Qualifications/Skills required:

2 A Levels - Mathematics/English or Science Discipline [preferably]

Working knowledge [basic] of CAD [AutoCAD Training given].

Computer Literate in Microsoft 'Word', 'PowerPoint' and 'Excel'.

Working knowledge of the internet.

Structured problem evaluation and problem solving skills.

Ability to work well as part of a team or own initiative.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Customer focused.

Level headed under pressure.
