We’re looking for the pick of the bunch…

Based at The Fresh Produce Centre at Paddock Wood in Kent, FreshPLUS takes a different approach to service provision. Specialising in fresh produce, our customers have the freedom to choose from a flexible menu of direct or indirect services; from full receipt, storage, ripening, packing and distribution of products to indirect options such as grower audits at source, customs clearance services or marketing insight reports.

So, why work for us?

We are looking for an enthusiastic Purchasing Coordinator to join us in order to enhance our packaging and purchasing team, which is just one of the services that FreshPLUS has to offer.

As a Purchasing Coordinator, you will be responsible for the procurement of non-produce consumables that are required for the operational team to function. Given that there is such a wide scope of items for you to purchase, no two days will be the same within this role. It’ll be within your remit to liaise with suppliers and negotiate the best prices for packaging, labels, protective clothing and uniforms and stationery, as well as equipment used by our quality and packhouse teams. Therefore, it’s essential that you are a strong communicator with the ability to build rapport and sustain good working relationships.

It’ll also be within your remit to carry out regular inventory checks to ensure that you have sufficient items in stock, ensuring you place orders to replenish them when levels become low. A majority of this role is office based, so the ideal candidate would have proficient IT skills. However, there would also include an element of heavy lifting, as we are pretty hands on here!
Even though this role does not have a responsibility for the procurement of the fresh produce that we supply, we would love to hear from anybody who has an understanding of fresh produce and/or packaging.

Our perfect Purchasing Coordinator would be:

• CIPS qualified (desirable)
• Familiar with purchasing consumable goods, preferably within an FMCG environment
• A strong negotiator, with the ability to influence others
• An excellent communicator with the ability to engage with suppliers and maintain good working relationships
• Proactive with a can-do attitude
• Experienced with using all Microsoft packages
• Familiar with using an SAP based system (desirable)

What else we can offer you:

• A competitive salary
• 25 days holiday per annum plus 8 bank holidays
• Pension scheme
• Company share scheme
• Childcare voucher scheme
• Subsidised canteen & deli bar (hot meals from £1)
• Free parking on site

The hours you would work:

You will be required to work an 8.5 hour day, Monday to Friday, from 8am-5pm (42.5 hours per week).

We would love to hear from you if you feel that you can offer us as much as we can offer you. Please do so by submitting your CV to our recruitment team.
