Role: Head of Supported and Retirement Living

Location: Mariner House

Contract: Permanent

Salary: up to £68,000 per annum plus Car Allowance of £1,893 pa

Our Supported and Retirement Living team are an important part of the wider Neighbourhoods function, managing almost 2000 tenancies and leases. We're looking for a Head of Supported and Retirement Living to work with us to drive transformation, ensuring that we are a proud provider of supported and retirement housing, enabling vulnerable and older people to live independently in their own home for as long as they possibly can. You’ll need strategic vision and to be in your element forging excellent relationships with service providers and local authority partners.

Who are we?

Moat is one of the top 30 housing associations in the UK with 20,000 homes spread across south east London, Kent, Essex and Sussex and we continue to develop new homes at an impressive rate too – last year we delivered 664 and we are aiming for another 3,000 by 2020. Our ambition is simple - to bring an end to housing need.

What are we looking for?

We’re undergoing a significant period of transformation, we’re excited about it, and you will be too! You’ll challenge the status quo, and ensure your team’s working practices are fit for the digital age. You’ll therefore be digitally savvy and technologically focussed. Your team are the face of Moat, they’re our eyes and ears, our transformation must work for them and our customers. Similarly, our physical homes and communities must meet the needs of our vulnerable customer base; with your commercial focus, you’ll work with our Strategic Asset Investment team to remodel, dispose and/or develop sites as appropriate.

You’ll have a sound understanding of tenancy and leaseholder matters, and can demonstrate from the outset that your knowledge is up to date and relevant. You’ll also have a firm understanding of our statutory obligations in supporting our vulnerable customer base, in particular in relation to safeguarding.

Your strong interpersonal and influencing skills will ensure excellent relationships with other colleagues around the business and beyond. You’re tenacious, confident and performance driven. You recognise that customer service is all about getting the basics right, and this requires individual commitment and a team effort to achieve it. You’ll manage your budgets effectively and ensure that corporate objectives filter down into team plans; using excellent communication skills to deliver the vision to individuals and teams in a way that motivates and inspires.
