Would you like the opportunity to work in a challenging and rewarding role within the education sector? Our client, a very successful educational establishment based in the Ashford area, has asked us to help recruit an HR Assistant on a Temporary to Permanent basis to commence work as soon as possible.

The successful applicant will be a Graduate ideally in HR but this is not essential.

The main duties of the role are:

•Working closely with the Director of Finance & Operations to assist line managers in understanding and implementing the Academy policies and procedures.
•Interacting with and supplying information to employees, department heads, and job applicants when required.
•Undertake all recruitment checks including those such as DBS checks, right to work checks and requesting references from present or past employers of applicants and inputting such details on the HR system and the Single Central Record.
•In Liaison with the Director of Finance & Operations, preparing induction plans for new staff and conducting a HR induction for all new staff across the Academy.
•Work with external agencies such as the payroll provider and the occupational health provider where appropriate.
•Preparing monthly unpaid absence reports and payroll changes as appropriate.
•Providing general administrative support such as preparing correspondence, forms and reports, arranging meetings, tracking deadlines, and taking down minutes as needed.
•Establishing and maintaining personnel, recruitment records, files, correspondence, reports, and organisation
•Conducting research, gathering data and statistical reports, and maintaining statistical information.
•Coordinating in house staff training events or programs, producing registers and paperwork as needed.
•Coordinating all staff training, including booking courses, preparing paperwork and tracking training on the HR system.
•Maintaining employee file records up-to-date by handling contractual changes in a timely manner.
•Preparing paperwork needed to create new employee profiles and to place new employees on payroll and HR Systems.
•Responsible for the administration of all staff holiday, absence and cover requests.
•Ensuring that all HR forms are completed by all staff in cases of INSET; request for leave; sickness and back to work report documentation.
•Ensuring that all Local Government and Teachers Pensions contributions and records are paid and updated by the required statutory deadlines.
•Maintain a full and accurate establishment list and associated structure charts for the whole academy.

Personal Qualities and Attributes:

•Graduate ideally in HR but not essential.
•To be a person of integrity and honesty.
•To communicate effectively, professionally and in a friendly manner with staff, suppliers, students and parents.
•To be highly motivated and positive towards the Academy’s goals.
•To have a flexible approach towards work and working hours.
•To be totally reliable with excellent time management skills.
•To be a team player. This position is part of a team with team tasks and responsibilities.


Successful applicants will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
